Trip With Hubs

Monday, November 17th, 2008

This is part of the view from our hotel room.  They had several beautiful buildings surrounding us but I was too lazy to venture out for more photos.

Just Kill Me Why Don’t Ya!

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Sometimes I get to go with hubs when he drives for charters or field trips.  We did an overnighter this weekend with the cheerleaders.  They had a competition about 2+ hours from home.

I think he planned on killing me while we were there.  We were almost there with about 1/2 hour to go when one of the bus alarms starting beeping.  Seems his bus has been having trouble off and on with losing anti-freeze.  It had been doing well recently and he checked the fluids, as he always does, before we left.  All systems seemed a go.  He parked the bus at the hotel and we settled in.  In the early afternoon he asked someone at the front desk if there was an auto store within walking distance.  He didn’t want to use the bus for two reasons.  He’d lose the parking space, which were at a premium, and he didn’t want to work the engine any harder than he had to.  The front desk person said that it was probably a good ten minute walk to the nearest store.  So we headed out.  20 minutes later we still hadn’t come across an auto parts store.  Hubs walks fast.  He’s almost a foot taller than me so that coupled with how fast he was walking gave me a real workout.  Saying that I am out of shape is a huge understatement.  I was carrying my digital camera hoping to get some pics of the area, but he would.not.slow.down!  He kept asking me if I was ok but didn’t seem to understand when I told him he walks too fast.  I swear it was almost 40 minutes before we reached the auto parts store.  And that was just one way!!  Then we had to carry 3 gallons of anti-freeze back with us.  2 years ago this wouldn’t have been an issue for me, but since I’ve let myself go to hell in a hand basket it was excruciating.  He made no apologies.  He just smiled when I told him he brought me with him just so he could use me to help him carry anti-freeze for 3 miles and kill me while he was at it.

He’s such a booger.

By the way, the girls got first in their division and also received outstanding team for their division.  Way to go girls!
