			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.lifehack.org/"  target="_blank" >Lifehack.org</a> has an article on <a href="http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/how-to-avoid-being-enslaved-by-consumerism.html"  target="_blank"  rel="bookmark"  title="Permanent Link: How to Avoid Being Enslaved by Consumerism" >How to Avoid Being Enslaved by Consumerism</a> by Scott Young that I found very interesting.   I&#8217;ve always felt comfortable that our family lives well within our means, but often wish for less &#8220;stuff&#8221; to worry about.  I dislike shopping and rarely buy expensive things for myself (except for a new camera recently).  I wear a lot of the same clothes I&#8217;ve worn for nearly 10 years as well.  So this begs the question, could I scale back even further and still not feel as though I&#8217;m living paycheck to paycheck and be afraid that we won&#8217;t have something we truly need.  Could I work less and &#8220;live&#8221; more even on a smaller paycheck.  Hubby grew up where they could barely rub two nickels together to make a dime and he has definite worries about that.  I grew up having what I needed and did not experience those worries.</p>
<p>Definitely something for me to think about&#8230;</p>
