Working on yet another crochet project

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

…without actually getting back to the abandoned “beginner” afghan yet.

I started out with a pattern for a shawl that I felt was too open and I wanted to make a tighter stitch so I just decided to do my own thing. I use a slip stitch and a half double crochet in every other stitch. I’m using 2 strands at a time to get the variagated look. I’ll finish it off when I feel the length is about right for a shawl.

Starting another afghan

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Well, actually I started it at least a week ago. I’m still on the second row. I’ve already ripped it out a couple of times. The pattern is supposed to be beginner but I can’t get my head wrapped around it for some reason. I’m just about to rip the row out again and do the row the way I had done it the first time when I thought it was wrong. The picture on the pattern is small but it looks like it’s going to be a really nice pattern if I could just get my head out of my butt and do it correctly.

Another afghan I crocheted long ago

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

I made this afghan as a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. It was during the time that I was really into it and making one afghan after another. I’m back on that kick and will post pictures of the ones I’m doing now as I get them finished.

Back in the Saddle Again (Crocheting Afghans)

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

I started this afghan last Thursday (10/12) and finished the main part of it this past Thursday (10/19). I put the fringes on it yesterday. Today is my niece’s bridal shower and this is the gift I made for her. I hope she likes it.
