Food for (my) thought

Lifehack.org has an article on How to Avoid Being Enslaved by Consumerism by Scott Young that I found very interesting.  I’ve always felt comfortable that our family lives well within our means, but often wish for less “stuff” to worry about.  I dislike shopping and rarely buy expensive things for myself (except for a new camera recently).  I wear a lot of the same clothes I’ve worn for nearly 10 years as well.  So this begs the question, could I scale back even further and still not feel as though I’m living paycheck to paycheck and be afraid that we won’t have something we truly need.  Could I work less and “live” more even on a smaller paycheck.  Hubby grew up where they could barely rub two nickels together to make a dime and he has definite worries about that.  I grew up having what I needed and did not experience those worries.

Definitely something for me to think about…
