Thursday Thirteen #19
Written by tbirdonawire on December 14th, 20061. Saturday is niece’s wedding. Where did the time go?
2. I didn’t make as many cookies as I would liked to have for her. But at least it’s 15 more dozen than they would have had otherwise.
3. I’ve got the picture CD done enough to do what my sister wants, but I’m still going to spruce it up and add music to it so they can play it after the wedding.
4. Daughter needs to practice her song. She’s been so busy with school concert, church choir and homeword, she hasn’t practiced this particular song very much.
5. We bought 3 dresses for her to pick from at VERY good prices. She keeps changing her mind about which to wear. Decisions, decisions.
6. The boys got new dress shoes and socks. Size 14 shoes! We were fortunate to have a friend of the family hand down some very nice suits that fit them nicely.
7. Now if I could only learn to tie a tie correctly. Forget about asking Mr. Bird!
8. I need to remember to charge my video camera battery. I was going to take video, but sister called and asked if she could use our camera as a backup for when her battery dies. I’ll make sure I have the charger and electric cord for it.
9. I’m not a drinker. I get headaches instead of buzzes nowadays. I wonder if she’s going to have kahlua?

10. If we don’t go to church on Sunday, they’ll be down 3 more people in the choir. I think they’ll already be missing 2 or 3 even if we do show. It’s really going to be hard to get up for church. *sigh*
11. I still have to bring the Christmas tree down from the attic and set it up. I keep telling myself I’ll do it after the wedding. Maybe I should get it done tonight instead?
12. I don’t have my Christmas cards written out yet. I bought some new pens with gold ink. I’m so glad my daughter has such pretty printing. And she loves to do this!
13. I can only imagine the stress my niece and sister are dealing with right now. I’m stressed and have gone into shutdown mode. When I feel overwhelmed, rather than bucking up and getting it done, I take a nap and don’t do anything. I know this wedding is going to lovely and I wish my niece and future nephew nothing but the best. XOXOXO

So much involved in a wedding, especially if you are a part of a wedding!
Don’t feel too bad about the Xmas cards…luckily the mail is pretty fast these days and people appreciate them, even if they are a little late. :)

I’m glad I’m not the only one that still don’t have Christmas cards in the mail (or started). I’ve been feeling so guilty…I guess I better keep feeling guilty or they may not ever get done!

Oh holy cow! A wedding near Christmas? Great idea in theory, isn’t it?? EEEK! I’m exhausted just reading your list. Hope it all goes smoothly today and everyone has a wonderful time.

I hope your niece had a wonderful wedding. Your to do list is very long. I hope you aren’t too stressed. I go into shut down mode too. That’s my defense mechanism. Only makes me stress more. Good luck getting everything done and good luck making it to church on Sunday. Have a blessed week!
